Ticketing and registration will open in December 2026.

The Merimbula Jazz Festival is a musician-focused festival, bringing players of all ages and experience levels together over the June long weekend.

There is no fee for bands, but band leaders and all band members performing on the official program must be fully registered (with payment $15).

A special rate for a Jazz Lover Weekend Pass ($60) is available for a registered Musician’s partner or parent.

Musician, Band Leader and Partner/Parent tickets are all available online.

How to Register

Who registers? Band leaders or musicians?

Band leaders and all musicians must be fully registered.

What if I lead multiple bands?

Register once per band. Select the number of bands you are registering in the dropdown box.

Do bands make a payment, or musicians?

Bands incur no fee, but each musician must register with payment.

When does registration close?

Band registrations close 14 weeks before the festival; musician registrations close 12 weeks before.

Do you accept late registrations

Places are limited and late entries cannot be accepted.

Apply for Jazz Quest

Are you a talented young musician 25 and under who would like to take part in Jazz Quest?

The Merimbula Jazz Festival with the support of the Bendigo Community Bank, Pambula & Bega, has a policy of showcasing and fostering young jazz musicians, each year with a significant prize pool. Jazz Quest is open to all registered instrumentalists and vocalists, and is judged by independent, experienced, and qualified judges.


How to apply


Jazz Quest Eligibility

  • Open to both instrumentalists and vocalists.
  • Two age categories:
    • Junior: 15 and under
    • Senior: 16 to 25

What are the performance requirements?

  • Perform one piece up to a maximum of 3 minutes.
  • Performance must include an improvised solo by the entrant.
  • No solos from members of the backing band.
  • Judging focuses on tone, phrasing, rhythm, tuning, dynamics and interpretation.
  • Stage presence is not assessed.

What prizes can be won?

  • Junior: $600, $400, $300, $200
  • Senior: $1,500, $1,000, $600, $400
