The Merimbula Jazz Festival is a much-loved not-for-profit event that has helped energise the local winter economy for more than 40 years. Held each June long weekend, the festival brings jazz lovers and musicians from across Australia to Merimbula for four days of live music, community spirit and coastal hospitality.
As one of the Sapphire Coast’s premier annual events, the festival is a strong driver of regional visitation and visitor spending, while also supporting youth participation and the future of jazz.
According to the 2024 economic impact report by independent consultancy Silver Lining Strategy, approximately 70% of musicians and 63% of audience members travelled from interstate, with visitors staying an average of 4.5 nights — above the regional average.
