The Merimbula Jazz Festival is a not-for-profit event that has been boosting its local economy during winter for over 40 years! Car, bus and plane loads of musicians and jazz lovers from all over the country come to Merimbula to enjoy jazz every June long weekend. Research shows that domestic visitors travelling for arts and culture stay longer in the region than other types of visitors (4 days, compared to the NSW average of 3.5 days) and they spend 46% more per trip when compared to other domestic visitors.*
This festival puts money back into its local community. Local Lions and Rotary groups get funds from the festival that help them continue their great work. Merimbula Jazz Festival also helps support the Merimbula Jazz Club so that they can keep bringing live jazz bands to the region all year; keeping jazz alive.
Each year the Merimbula Jazz Festival runs a Youth Jazz Quest with cash prizes to encourage the youth of today to become the top jazz musicians for future generations. Merimbula Jazz Festival chose Humanitix because as at February 2023, they have contributed over $2million towards closing the global education gap. Just like us, Humanitix help others.
