Get ready for a wonderful opening ceremony on Saturday morning with music, dancing and singing.
Make your way to the Club Sapphire auditorium to be greeted by our lovely Roaring 20s Jazz volunteers and dancers from the Take Your Brain Dancing group.
The Merimbula Jazz Festival has long championed the celebration of our younger musicians and our opening ceremony is no exception with the wonderfully talented Sydney Youth Jazz Orchestra, under the direction of professional jazz educator Dr Saul Richardson, there to entertain us.
We are delighted to welcome back the exciting and energetic Canberra Swing Katz who along with the Take Your Brain Dancing group from Merimbula, will show off some fancy footwork.
One of our innovations this year is the vocal workshops – both Jazz and Gospel workshops. The Jazz Choir will perform as part of the opening ceremony, directed by Leisa Keen and backed by Leisa Keen and the Keen Kats.
We look forward to sharing our opening ceremony with the Member for Eden-Monaro Kristy McBain, Bega Valley Shire Mayor Russell Fitzpatrick, and most importantly – all of you.
